CEOs scepticism about design
CEOs and founders are right to be sceptical about design.
They are also right to say that AI can now do much of the job.

Because many profiles on the job market trade business impact for the comfort of avoiding real stakeholder tension.
Because design leadership is sometimes centred on craft and (self) visibility, rather than on building the foundations of a great product.
This is why design transformation is not about better tools.
It is about transforming the role of design itself.
It means recruiting designers and leaders who can own product vision, not just execute fragments of it.
